Each class starts with a gentle breathing practice to calm the mind and prepare for the rest of the session. This is followed by a gentle chair based warm-up working through each of the joints in preparation for the physical part of the class. Next we move on to the yoga postures, which will often use a chair or wall for support. We will then do some floor based postures for those that are comfortable lying on the floor. If this is not suitable then alternative postures will be offered. The class closes with a guided relaxation which can be done either lying down or sitting in a chair.
Comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement are best for yoga, preferably in layers to keep you warm. All equipment (mats, blocks etc) is provided but you may like to bring your own blanket for the relaxation session at the end of class.
